... And Statistics Dept.

| | Comments (2)

I crunched site stats for March and came away with some interesting results. Here's the top article hits:

  1. Spirited Away
  2. The Last Unicorn
  3. Sword of Doom
  4. The Black Cauldron
  5. Princess Mononoke
  6. My writing (Summerworld, etc.)
  7. Akira Kurosawa's Dreams
  8. The Punisher
  9. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
  10. 28 Days Later
  11. Wonderful Days

Having The Punisher and 28 Days Later up in there is kind of surprising, although Spirited Away, The Last Unicorn, Sword of Doom and The Black Cauldron have historically been the most widely-read articles in the site's history.

Interesting...I'm still a relative newcomer to this site (as of late April), but it is pretty cool to see three Miyazaki films up there, with SPIRITED AWAY at number 1.

I'll get busy reading them as soon as possible.

(And yes, Miyazaki is the man. The films that he's done are, honestly, among the best animated films ever made. PONYO was an absolute wonder, and I'm very glad I caught it in the theater.)

The older reviews always seem a bit bewhiskered and goofy to my own eyes, but I try to leave them alone as evidence of how I saw them at the time. I'm just consistently surprised at how the same batch of things leaps up into the top 10 time and again.
